STUDENT MAILROOM

Saturday: 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Sunday: Closed
*These hours are subject to change.
RECEIVING MAIL
At the beginning of the school year, students will receive an email from the Package Concierge System with a link, prompting them to establish an account and a pin that they can use to retrieve their packages. If a student needs help establishing an account, they can visit the student mailroom.
When a student receives a package, student mailroom employees enter the package into the system. Students receive an email that they have a package or letter in the student mailroom.
Mailroom Pick-up
On occasion (for oversized or perishable packages), students will be directed to pick up their mail at the student mailroom window. Just give the employee their name, student ID, and whether it is a package or letter. Students may have to sign for packages.
Package Concierge System
Emails indicating the package has been placed in the Package Concierge System contain a barcode and the student’s username. To retrieve the package from the locker system: either enter the username or scan the barcode in the email (NOT a Student ID). The system will then prompt them to enter their pin. With the correct pin, a locker will open. Once the locker is empty, close the door and hit the “Log Out” button on the kiosk screen.
AMAZON PACKAGES
The student mailroom in the TWC has an Amazon Hub Locker, “Phil,” for Amazon shipments. Amazon employees deliver directly to this locker NOT through the student or campus mailrooms.
To use Phil, the person ordering will need to select Phil as the shipping address. This can either be done through the “Your Addresses” tab and selecting “Add Address” > find an Amazon pickup location. Once a package is placed into the Phil locker by Amazon, the account holder will receive a notification with the pin that they can use to retrieve their package from the yellow lockers.
Note: Not all packages will be able to be sent to the locker, depending on size and availability in the locker system. Students who utilize Phil may find that shipping speeds are sometimes quicker, though not always. Though Phil is a convenient way to ship Amazon packages to campus, it is not the only way. Packages can be addressed like normal, and they will be processed through the student mailroom.
COMMON QUESTIONS
It is possible to send a friend to pick up your. Just send an email to studentmailroom@carthage.edu stating that you authorize [friend’s first and last name] to pick up the package/letter. The friend will have to show their ID and let the employee know whose packages they are picking up and signing for.
We encourage students to provide a forwarding address to the student mailroom before an extended break (i.e. winter break or summer break). If the package has the correct postage type on it, the mail can be forwarded to the student. Mail can also be held until the next semester upon request. If a student does not provide a forwarding address, the student mailroom may reach out so that the student can get their mail before they return to campus.
If a student graduates or becomes a commuter, please provide a forwarding address. If a student fails to provide a forwarding address or does not respond to the student mailroom as to what they would like done with their mail, their package/letter may be returned to the original sender. Some students may want to change their forwarding address with USPS or a business so they get their mail at their new address.
Please come pick up mail right away to make space for incoming mail. Students must retrieve their mail before the end of each semester.
